The first Voices of Women Adventure began in 2018 as The Monologue Adventure, combining literary arts, performance art and the writing and acting community.
Over three years, the Adventure has begun with a writing competition and developed into a performance piece. It has community openness at its heart – all women writers are invited to submit short pieces. The pieces are all written in the first person – narrative, monologue, soliloquy.
It has the wonder of performance as its outcome – the pieces are performed in public by trained actors. It goes up close and engaged in audience immersed performances in unique and unusual venues.
In 2020 the performances were postponed due to the global pandemic of coronavirus COVID-19.
